I winced at the obnoxiouly loud creaking of the door as I pushed it open. I glanced at the clock and froze when I realised it was almost 4 in the morning, praying that all the noise hadn't waken my parents up. I remained where I was for a few seconds and not hearing any sound coming from upstairs, quietly taking my shoes and jacket off. I glanced at my outfit and realised that in my drunken/hungover state, I'd forgotten to change back into my parent approved halloween costume and thanked god that no one was awake. Hearing a noise I turned around suddenly and tripping over my own feet fell down onto the floor, while making a lot my noise than the one I thought I had heard.
I quickly and quietly tried to get up onto my feet, all the while cursing myself for deciding to drink at the party. What had I been thinking, I thought, when I decided it would be even more brilliant to come home. If mom or dad woke up and saw me right now, I would be dead. Without a lot more noise I managed to get to my room, which was thankfully across the top floor of the house from both my parents and my big brother Jack's room.
Entering my room I took my phone out of the purse and saw that I had a few messages. Two of them were from Merry, my best friend asking me if I had made it home yet and the other 4 messages were from Kevin asking me if I was sure going home was such a good idea. As I was replying to both of them, I heard the door open behind me and "What the he** are you wearing". I spun around and there was Jack starting at me, looking pissed...
This blog reminds me of the things that i've done that i wish my mother never finds out. I know how difficult it is to balance two worlds. This blog has feeling and description to it.
ReplyDeleteP.S.- I'm new in commenting on blogs.
I like your writing style, but considering it's a first post, it's a bit short and besides from the title, I didn't feel a connection to you. But I think it's gonna be a good read, so I'll check out the next post.
ReplyDeletePS: I hope I didn't come off as harsh! I think writing a blog must be hard, so it's a bit of constructive feedback ;)
Fenhu- its okay. I would love to get some constructive criticism. This is my first time trying to write a fictional story so please bear with me while I get a good hold on what I am doing.
