Nava Din (Trans: New Day)

The next morning I work up at 10 with a blazing headache and what felt like sandpaper in my mouth. Groaning, I rolled over in the bed and tried to find the energy or a trace of desire to get up. A few minutes later that choice was taken away from me as I heard a soft knock on my door.

"Go away" I mumbled, barely above a whisper. When nothing happened for a minute, I wondered if who ever had knocked had heard me and gone away or thought I was still sleeping since they couldn't hear my answer.

A moment later, I heard someone unlocking my door from the outside and before I could figure out, how they had a key, opened the door. With what seemed like Herculean effort, I opened my eyes and jumped when I found Jack's face right above mine.

"What are you doing!?" I asked as I tried to smack his arm

He just smiled, dodged my weak attempt at hurting him, and said "I was wondering if you were still alive and thought that as the great brother that I am, I would check on you"

I glared at him and said "Well as you can see, I'm alive. Now go away and let me go back to sleep."

Instead of leaving me alone as I wanted him to, he flopped down on the bed beside me "No I'm not going anywhere. You need to get up, take a shower and get something to eat. The massive hangover you're feeling isn't going to go away on its own"

"Ugh don't mention food, please" I muttered and I pulled the blanket up above my head "And I'm not getting up anytime soon"

He laughed and a second later, the blanket was ripped away from me. Before I could protest, Jack was scooping me up and slinging me over his shoulder. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I shrieked as he literally carried me out of the room.

Instead of answering my question, he kept on walking and finally put me down. When I realized I was in the bathroom, I started to open my mouth but the interrupted me before I could "Ror, don't argue with me. You need to get up and get dressed. Lying around in bed all day isn't going to do anything or cure your hangover. You don't have to worry about mom and dad because they are already gone"

"Mom and dad are gone?" I asked, surprised before I remembered "Oh yeah. They have that convention in St. Louis this week"

Jack nodded "Yeah. They left a couple of hours ago. They wanted to say bye to you but didn't want to wake you up so mom said she would call in a few hours. So now, I will see you when you are done" and with that he turned around and left the bathroom, locking and closing the door behind him.

I sighed and decided that since I was already here, I might as well get ready to face the day.

30 minutes later, I headed downstairs, only to turn around when I realized I had forgotten my cell phone. As I went to pick it up, I was suddenly flooded with the memories of everything that had happened yesterday and of Kevin's text.

I turned on my phone and saw that I had 4 text messages. One of them was from Merry, complaining about how hung over she was. The other three were from Kevin. When I saw his name, I hesitated before opening the texts. Do I really want to do this right now, I thought as I stared at his name. Taking a deep breath, I opened the 1st message out of the three because it seemed to be one text that was too big to send at once. I saw that it was from 3:30 am, about an hour after his “I love you” text.

It said “So it’s been an hour since I sent you the last text and you haven’t replied to me or called me. I’m going to guess that either you haven’t seen the text yet and are passed out. Or that you don’t feel the same way about me. Since I started this already I might as well finish. I meant what I said earlier. I have loved you for so long that I can’t even remember when I didn’t. You are the person I think of when I think of love and I want you to be in my life always. Now if I don’t get a response to this soon, I’m gonna pretend that you just went to bed”

Once again, I felt all the energy drain out of me and I…

  1. Aww, I love it! Luckily, I've never had one of those hangovers where food is the enemy. Light and sound on the other hand, i've had that type. Great posting! :)

  4. He's the guy she's loved forever. I don't see the problem why she's so hesitant when he just confessed his feelings for her!

This blog reminds me of how my boyfriend and I finally got together (minus the car accident/hangover). =]
