Some great news and just some news.

Sorry guys, I've been missing in action for a week but I do have some great news as a reason for it. Actually two great news(s?). The less exiting one of those great news is that I got a new job! My current job (because I don't start the new job till the 15th) is as a cashier at a gas station. And while that was a job when I really needed one, it was also horrible. My new wonderful (hopefully) job is a receptionist at a law firm. Thank god that they are willing to work around my class schedule because I really wanted this job. It is a pay raise but it is also in the field that I would like to eventually work in. Plus they will hopefully be able to give me great recommendations when I apply to law school.

Now great news #2. On Tuesday March 2nd, I got a desperate sounding phone call from one of my oldest and best friends Palvi. Palvi and I've been friends for over 10 years and she got married 2 years ago (she is 2 years older then me). 6 months ago, she told me that she was pregnant! Well the baby wasn't due until April 3rd but her water broke at 3pm on Tuesday. When she called me (it was a miracle that the call went through because there is basically no service at the Knight library at UO), she was still at her house, waiting for her husband to come take her to the hospital. She had called him at work and he was trying to make it home as soon as he could.

I freaked out along with her at first and then realised I need to calm her down. As I was talking to her, I was throwing my things into my bag and running out of the library. Since I was only a 10 minute drive away from her house, I ended up getting there for her husband, Caleb (yes he is the insperation for the Caleb in the blog) got there. I quickly got her things together and called Caleb to tell him to just meet us at the hospital and we left. At the hospital, they checked her in and as they were wheeling her away, Caleb rushed in.

Palvi was in labor for 14 hours and Satwinder Kaur (or Sunny as she has already been nicknamed) was born on Wednesday March 3rd at 2:06 am to some very exhausted but estatic parents. She was exactly 1 month premature so she was rushed to the NICU but she is fine and healthy and absoutley beautiful. Since then I'v spent basically any waking and free moment at the hospital because Sunny hasn't been realeased yet. I think I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. I can't wait till we can have her home and she can meet her aunty rory :D

And now onto the just news part. I think for the time being I'm going to change the blog posting schedule to just 2 times a week. Right now I'm thinking that the new schedule is going to be Tuesday's and Friday's but that might change. The schedule will go back to normal in a month or so but until then I just need more time to write.

Last bit of news is that I have finals starting a week from today so if I don't get back to people on comments as quickly as I usually do, please be patient because I will respond.

Thank you for everything

Rory
