Hi guys. Since I'm fast approaching the middle of my junior year (sort of) I've been thinking a lot about studying abroad or doing a international internship through IE3. I was wondering if any of you guys have done anything like that and can maybe offer me some advice. I was looking around on the IE3 website today, because I think i'm leaning more towards a international internship, and found this great one in Scotland. Go to http://ie3global.ous.edu/positions/snp/ if you want to see it. Its a amazing internship that I would kill to do but its also a lot of money. Have any of you been to Scotland or have any experience with it? Any advice would be helpful and very appreciated.

I never studied abroad (unless you count my dad being transfered to Brazil and the US twice since I was 5 until I was 15). But I do believe strongly in the value of travel as a means to grow as a person and to get to know yourself. Broadening your horizons is priceless, so go for it!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm a military brat and for the first 8 or 9 years of my life we lived abroad. I can tell you those were the best years of my life and I had a very fulfilling childhood. I also can say that I learned a lot education wise and culture wise. I think you should go ahead and take the internship (and don't worry about cost, there are ways to pay for it. I know the college I attended gave grants and scholarships to people who studied abroad...and also apply for FASFA and use some of the money to pay for that).
ReplyDeleteNow as far as Scotland goes, I've never been. I've been to England (only because my mom was born and raised there) a few times and I love it. Since it's on the same Isle, there will probably be similarities in culture, so I'll just say go for it!!
p.s. if you have any questions, because I don't really go back to things I've posted on other people's blogs simply because I'll forget, you can email me at aeasley0808@gmail.com
