Hi guys,
I don't know if you all noticed but I deleted a couple of comments about today's post. They were posted this morning so I don't know if any of you got a chance to read them. Both the comments said basically the same thing: that if the scene that I wrote about in today's post really happened, I was a whole and a slut. The second one said that I since I write based on experience and real life, I must be a really cheap slut for going between so many guys.
So this is the first time I've gotten comments that were attacking me. Personally I didn't expect comments like that on today's post because it really isn't something explicit or disgusting at all. I encourage all of you to comment whether you liked the post or my writing or not. Contructive crititsism is great because it helps me become a better writer and helps you all in the future in your reading experince. Attacking me or calling me a whore and a slut isn't okay. I didn't sign up for that when I started writing this blog.
Anyways I just wanted to explain to you why I deleted them because I won't delete anyone's negative comments for no reason.

Whoever did that must not have been raised right, because not only is that rude and hurtful to you, it just shows that those people lack character. While I do think that Rory is going through a lot of guys (being 2) so fast, I wouldn't call her (or you for that matter) a slut. It's not like she's doing anything immoral with either guy, so those people need to back off. If anything, the characters in my blog are much more skanky than yours. You are a great writer, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I dont agree with those comments at all. Rory really haven't gone through guys that quick, I mean its not like she just met them off the street or anything. When the moment is right the moment is right. Plus, the storyline has a 2 week gap in it between the time of her going to Seattle so its not that big of a deal. Keep up the good work, your writing is great and I love the story line.
ReplyDeleteAllow me to pick my jaw up off the floor, Wow. While I admit Rory was sort of dealing with the Kevin and the other friend, she didn't actually "do" anything with them. She has known Alex FOREVER. It finally clicked. I'm loving this.

2) She didn't actually do anything considered whore-like or slutty.
3) There was a two week gap like blondygirl said.
4) She had feelings for Alex for a long time.
I love your blog and your writing. Don't let people like that get you down,they are just rude and inconsiderate and enjoy the safety behind the computer screen. If they said that to someone in real life, they'd get a fist to the face.

I have to agree with everyone. You are doing a great job and I am glad that you deleted the comments. In no way did that thought cross my mind. I was thinking "what about Kevin (?)" I think that was his name, but never even thought of her(you) in that way. Like mum said, you never did anything, except kiss, anyone anyway so how can they even say that? Too bad you can't keep them from ever getting on here again.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I did just get great advice from a friend of mine who told me that "hurting people hurt" so maybe they are just hurting someway that we do not know about and the only way they know how to react is to hurt others, jsut a thought.
You keep up the terrific job that you are doing and don't let them get to you. Somehow I get the feeling that you won't!! :) :)
Wow. Thank you all so much. I didn't expect to get such a outpouring of support but I really appreciate it. I've been having so much fun writing this blog and discovering where Rory's story is going that I don't want to stop.
ReplyDeleteAs for the idiots who wrote those comments all I have to say is that if you don't like the blog/me/my writing/or the way I live my life, don't read the blog. No one is forcing you too.
